The STEM Hub – Considering an apprenticeship in healthcare with the NHS
Date:
Time:
to
Location: Online - Microsoft Teams Live
For Secondary School Students
Join STEM Ambassador Abigail, an East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust apprentice, in her final year within healthcare, specifically in clinical physiology within neurophysiology, a branch of physiology and neuroscience which investigates the function of both the peripheral (nerves) and central (brain and spinal cord) nervous system. Abigail will talk about neurophysiology, what her apprenticeship involves, how her time is split between working and studying, how she came to study neurophysiology and what she did prior to this.
You’ll discover how Abigail’s degree apprenticeship enables her to work and study simultaneously whilst earning a wage. If you are considering a career in healthcare science, or in the NHS in general, an apprenticeship gives you the opportunity to get hands on experience whilst you earn and learn, and allows you to apply the knowledge you gain through university to the work you do every day.
This live talk, aimed at secondary students, will be informative and engaging and there will be the opportunity to ask questions afterwards.
This virtual secondary school assembly talk will take place using MS Teams Live. The platform has safeguarding built-in to make it a safe online environment, especially for young people, including no webcams or microphones and a live Q&A function which is fully moderated.
